The playground was utterly gutted when it was set ablaze on May 7.

However the community rallied and was able to raise more than $80,000 to replace the playground.

Some of the major donations included $22,000 from Canadian Tire, $20,000 from Kids in Sports Foundation, $10,000 from TD Bank and $5000 from CUPE local 4400.

School officials said the new playground could be built by September.
