TORONTO – Three people have been charged in connection with a fire that gutted the playground outside of Mary Shadd Public School in Malvern.
An 18-year-old male, 19-year-old male and 17-year-old male face arson and damage to property charges.
Their names have been withheld by police to protect the identity of the 17-year-old young offender.

The playground was utterly gutted when it was set ablaze on May 7.
However the community rallied and was able to raise more than $80,000 to replace the playground.
Some of the major donations included $22,000 from Canadian Tire, $20,000 from Kids in Sports Foundation, $10,000 from TD Bank and $5000 from CUPE local 4400.
School officials said the new playground could be built by September.
The men are scheduled to appear in a Toronto courtroom on Thursday.
