Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue are Canada's Ice King and Queen!

For the first time in the history of Olympic Ice Dancing, a North American pair won the Gold Medal. It was a flawless performance by these two stunning athletes. And yes, I do say athletes. It takes an unbelievable amount of strength, stamina, flexability and athletic ability to pull off what they do. Now while I can't show you video from their Gold Medal winning performance, I did find their exact performance on YouTube at a different event. Keep in mind their Olympic performance was 10-times better but you'll get the idea.

When Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir were in Saskatoon for the 2009 BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships, I asked them about that move. While he wouldn't reveal the "secret", Scott did tell me that he didn't have any padding on his leg. It's all about Tessa putting that skate in the right position and making no sudden movement. It's stunning.

I've said it once and i'll say it again – it really is poetry on ice. And unlike a Shakespearean tragedy, this story finished with a happy ending – Olympic Gold.
