Fire destroys home in Leduc County

EDMONTON – A house on a rural property south of Edmonton burned to ground in a blaze that started Tuesday night.

The home is located in Leduc County, near Township Road 511 and Range Road 236.

The fire started just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The homeowner called emergency crews, and Leduc County Fire Services responded, but the house was engulfed in flames when they arrived. Crews were unable to save the home.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Firefighters were still on scene Wednesday morning. They stay throughout the night to put out hot spots.

A track hoe was used to knock down what was left of the house.
