As the election campaign heads down to the wire, the latest polling shows just a six-point gap between the Liberals and the NDP, so both leaders are pulling out all the stops to win over undecided voters.
Today the packed schedule for Liberal leader Christy Clark included a tour of Sealand Aviation in Campbell River.
After speaking to supporters there, Clark was asked about a bizarre full-page campaign ad that turned up in a local newspaper on the island.

The ad featuring Clark, Adrian Dix and Green party leader Jane Sterk seemed to endorse the Green party, despite their differing views.
Today, Clark was asked about what was behind the odd tactic.
“Well the ad was intended to endorse us,” said Clark. “I think the point that we were making in that, I mean for me, as I said in the debate, I disagree with Jane Sterk on almost everything, but I respect the fact that she’s prepared to take a stand on things. She’s got guts, she’s willing to stand up for what she believes in, and I try and do the same thing. I try and stand up for what I believe in, even though people may disagree with me, because I think people want leaders who are straightforward and who are strong enough to stand up.”
