A three-alarm fire at long-term care home Kennedy Lodge in Scarborough on Monday has been knocked out and residents are able to return to their homes.
Toronto fire spokesperson David Eckerman told Global News they responded to a call about a fire in the area of Kennedy and Ellesmere roads just before noon.
Eckerman said the fire appeared to be coming from the main floor laundry room and that smoke had migrated to the basement where some residents reside.

He said officials were investigating a possible burnt out fan motor as the cause.
Emergency services, including paramedics and police were on scene assisting with the evacuation.
Just before 2 p.m., Toronto police said all residents were able to return to their homes.
No injuries were reported.
