Suspect caught after murder on Yellow Quill First Nation

ROSE VALLEY, Sask. – Regina police have apprehended 61-year-old Charles Bighead after a murder on the Yellow Quill First Nation over the weekend.

He was arrested without incident.

On Saturday, Mounties were called to the reserve located approximately 195 km east of Saskatoon to investigate a sudden death.

Dorinda Machiskinic, 38, from the First Nation, was found dead from a fatal gunshot at a residence.

Police have charged Bighead with second-degree murder and he is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Wednesday.
