TORONTO — Hundreds of police officers, dignitaries, families and friends of police officers and members of the public gathered Sunday morning at the Ontario Police Memorial at Queen’s Park for the 14th annual Ceremony of Remembrance.

The event honours police officers in Ontario who lost their lives in the line of duty. This year’s ceremony paid tribute to Guelph Police Const. Jennifer Kovach, who died last March when her cruiser slammed into a bus.

Kovach’s family — including mother Gloria and father Bill — were on hand to remember her.

Among those placing wreaths were Ontario Lieutenant Governor David Onley and Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne.
