North End incident is the city’s 19th homicide: police

Winnipeg police were on scene Sunday night through Monday morning investigating an incident, but had few details – May 27, 2019

Winnipeg police were on scene Monday morning in the North End investigating the city’s 19th homicide of 2019.

Police say they were called just after 9 p.m. Sunday night to look into a report of several people fighting in the 300 block of Alfred Avenue.

A man was found with serious injuries and taken to hospital in critical condition, said police.

He later died from his injuries.

Traffic was blocked on Alfred Avenue between Aikins Street and Salter Avenue Monday morning as police continued to investigate.
