Man faces murder charge in Hamilton’s 4th homicide of 2019

One person is dead after a stabbing in central Hamilton near Victoria Park, Saturday night.

Hamilton police, Fire and Paramedics were called out to an apartment complex at 15 Lamoreaux Street between Dundurn Street North and Strathcona Avenue just after 9:00 p.m. after reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, they discovered a man with wounds consistent with a stabbing and vital signs absent.

The man was later pronounced dead on the scene.

46-year-old Wayne Bilodeau, from Hamilton, is the city’s fourth homicide victim of 2019.

Police arrested a 45-year-old  Robert Surridge of Hamilton charging him with 2nd-degree murder charge.

Homicide detectives say they believe the attack was not random and that the two men knew each other.

Hamilton police’s major crime unit has taken over the investigation and is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call police at 905-546-4167.
