Annette Corriveau thought she had the perfect family – a beautiful baby girl and boy, about one year apart. By the time they reached school age, Corriveau’s kids were diagnosed with a rare genetic syndrome that would ravage their bodies and minds over time, leaving them severely disabled. These photos document Corriveau’s life with her kids, making the best of an increasingly challenging situation that would leave her with some agonizing moral questions for herself – and the law.
