Live stream: River web cam

Global Winnipeg has a great perspective for viewing our city — literally.

From our 30th-floor windows, we can see fires (the Speedway International fire in St. Boniface was an amazing example), watch what’s happening at Portage Avenue and Main Street and keep an eye on our spectacular Prairie sky.

Lately, we’ve also been keeping our eyes on the water flowing past The Forks, watching ice move rapidly past the Esplanade Riel.

We want to share our perspective with our viewers, so we’ve decided to point a roof camera at the river so you can watch, too. The camera will sometimes be needed for news purposes, particularly during our news shows from 6-9 a.m., 6-6:30 p.m. and 9-10 p.m., but we’ll leave it on so you can watch those views, as well.

Enjoy. We certainly do.
