The tour is in support of the new Pet Shop Boys album Electric, which is set for release July 15.
It’s the duo’s 12th album since their 1986 debut Please, which spawned hits like “Love Comes Quickly” and “Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money)” and included their 1984 hit single “West End Girls.”
Electric is the first Pet Shop Boys album released on their own x2 label. Produced by Stuart Price, it features eight new tracks plus a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “The Last to Die.” British rapper Example appears on a song called “Thursday.”
The first single “Axis” is available on iTunes. Click here to see the video.
Tennant, 58, and Lowe, 53, met at an electronics shop in London in 1981 and first started creating music under the name West End. As Pet Shop Boys, they have sold more than 50 million records worldwide.
