Winnipeg police investigate suspicious death in North End

Winnipeg police were called just after 3 a.m. to what they’re calling a ‘suspicious death’ in the city’s North End.

Police said they found an unresponsive man near the railway line in the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue after getting a report of a serious assault.

The man was rushed to hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced dead.

Selkirk Avenue is closed between Sgt. Tommy Price Street and Battery Street.

Officers are expected to remain in the area throughout the day as they continue to investigate.

No arrests have been made.
