SAINT JOHN — Photos from a recent small claims case has offered the public a glimpse into the Saint John office where Richard Oland was murdered on July 7, 2011.
After the police concluded the search of the crime scene, clean-up and restoration crews began extensive work tearing up the flooring and sub floor as shown in the photos.
It has been reported that Oland was attacked with a drywall axe and died from head wounds.
The Oland family holding company, Far End Corporation, filed the suit claiming they should not be responsible to pay for the repairs. The case has been settled out of court.

CBC News and the Telegraph-Journal have been seeking to have the publication ban lifted on the search warrants related to the case, arguing that the murder remains unsolved and the public has a right to know why.

The warrants released last October said police had a suspect in mind.
The documents said the suspect was “experiencing financial hardships” and owed Oland more than $500,000.
