A man has been rushed to hospital after he was shot in Brantford on Friday afternoon.

Police say they are investigating a shooting incident that occurred just after 1 p.m. in the area of Colborne Street and Park Avenue.

Const. Shane Seibert says that Hamilton police and Brant County OPP are assisting Brantford authorities in identifying someone who may have information in regards to the investigation.

He adds that the victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Hamilton police officers were on the scene at Lime Ridge Mall in connection with the incident, but police have not released details about the reason for their presence at the mall.

Police believe this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence.

Brantford police say they are looking for two suspects, including Keyshawn Commissiong, 20, who was last seen wearing a black jacket and black pants with “Champion” in white lettering and brown boots. He is pictured below:

Police also say they are looking for an unknown male suspect, described as between five feet seven inches and five feet nine inches tall with a medium build and a moustache. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with pink trim, a dark hoodie, a dark baseball hat, blue jeans and black running shoes with white soles. Police have released the following photos of the second suspect:
