A Calgary massage therapist is facing charges after three clients came forward with allegations of sexual assault.
Police first launched an investigation in early November after a man reported being victimized during a massage at the Movement Sports Clinic, located in the 100 block of 9 Avenue S.W., that took place in April.
As they were investigating, police said two more victims came forward to report similar experiences that happened at the same clinic in August and September.
Dennis Quebral Baltazar, 44, of Calgary, is charged with three counts of sexual assault and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
In a news release, the Calgary Police Service said Movement Sports Clinic has “fully cooperated throughout the investigation.”
In a statement provided to Global News, the owners of the clinic said they are “grateful to the brave patients that have come forward related to this very serious matter.”
“The massage therapist in question was dismissed as soon as allegations were brought forward,” the statement read.
“The safety and wellbeing of our patients is a foremost concern and we support anyone who has more information to provide to police.”
Police are encouraging anyone who may have been the victim of a sexual assault to call the non-emergency line to report the incident at 266-1234, or 911 if they are in immediate danger.
In Canada, there is no limit to how long a victim has to report a sexual assault.
