Don Valley Parkway, Line 2 subway reopen after police investigation at Bloor Viaduct

Toronto police say the Don Valley Parkway has reopened after an earlier “medical emergency” at the Bloor Viaduct.

“We are very pleased to say the medical situation on the Prince Edward Viaduct has been successfully resolved with no injuries to anyone involved, including first responders,” police said in an update on Twitter

Officials closed the DVP southbound at Bayview Avenue and northbound between the Gardiner Expressway and Bayview Avenue at the beginning of the Friday afternoon rush hour, forcing vehicles onto nearby local roads. TTC Line 2 subway service was also shut down between St. George and Broadview stations.

Police said officers, paramedics and firefighters were called for a “medical emergency” at the Bloor Viaduct.

At around 7:15 p.m., traffic and subway service resumed.

The TTC operated shuttle buses on Broadview Avenue, Gerrard Street East, Parliament Street and Bloor Street East during the closure.
