Music and sport collide at JUNO Cup Jam ahead of celebrity hockey game

Big-name Canadian musicians and athletes will meet Thursday night in what is the first large-scale event of JUNO week in London.

The JUNO Cup Jam is a night of musical collaborations between the musicians and athletes who will be participating in the JUNO Cup on Friday.

Classified, The Reklaws, members of Born Ruffians and Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo are some of the artists set to take part.

Former NHLers Doug Gilmour, Gary Roberts and Olympic medalists Natalie Spooner and Sarah Nurse will also be part of the action.

The JUNO Cup, meanwhile, is a celebrity fundraising hockey game happening on Friday in support of MusiCounts. Besides the game, there will also be special performances and a skills competition.

JUNO Cup Jam festivities get underway at 8 p.m. on Thursday at Rum Runners at 176 Dundas St.
