Laval police officers will be going door-to-door in the Auteuil neighourhood over the next few days, after a man was gunned down outside his home Wednesday morning.
Laval police spokesperson Geneviève Major explained community outreach officers will be doing the rounds to reassure affected residents and offer their support.
According to police, the shooting happened outside the man’s home on des Laurentides Boulevard at around 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
Major said the victim, a 26-year-old man, was shot in the head.

He was rushed to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Major said investigators were at the scene until 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

There are still no suspects in the case, but an autopsy expected to be performed on Thursday, could provide more clues.
The victim was not known to Laval police services.
