Police are seeking to identify a suspect after two armed robberies were reported in Barrie.
Barrie police say on Sunday at around 12:30 p.m., a suspect entered a convenience store on Cundles Road West, just west of Bayfield Street.
Police say once in the store, the suspect approached the front counter, allegedly produced a knife and demanded money from the cash register.
The victim complied and police say the suspect obtained a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene on foot.
The employee was not physically injured as a result of the incident, police say.
Officers say the second incident occurred at around 5 p.m. at a pet store on Livingstone Street East.
Police allege the suspect approached the front counter, produced a knife and demanded money from the cash register.
Officers say the suspect obtained a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene on foot.
According to police, the employee was not physically injured as a result of the incident.
Police believe the same suspect is responsible for both incidents.
Officers are now searching for a man, around six feet tall with a thin build. Police say he had a dark coloured scarf or bandana covering his face.
During the first incident, police say the suspect was seen wearing a thin, grey zip-up hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and tall black winter boots.
Police say during the second incident, the suspect was seen wearing a grey coat, a black hoodie, blue jeans and black and white running shoes.
Officers say during the second incident, purple hair could be seen showing underneath the suspect’s hat and hood.
