Hundreds of children submitted entries. In the end, 64 were chosen to participate in a very realistic day-in-the-life of an Edmonton Oiler.

“They get to do a ton of really cool things like signing a contract, getting a jersey with a their name on the back and they’ll be skating on the ice at Rogers Place,” said Sean Megna a spokesperson with Boston Pizza.
Oilers alumni Al Hamilton and Fernando Pisani were also part of the event.

“It’s a real wow day,” Megna said. “They see the bright lights, they’re signing autographs, they’re signing contracts — they’re seeing photographers everywhere! It’s a big day in the hub of the city, the Oilers arena. It’s just a really fun day.”
Luke Greenways got to participate and said it was the best day: “Getting to skate on the same ice that Connor McDavid skates on — it’s really fun. I couldn’t wait.”
