The event, called YYC Food and Drink Experience, will fill the void left behind after The Big Taste YYC bit the dust. Big Taste YYC was held for a week every March, but organizers announced last year they would no longer be hosting the food festival after moving in a new strategic direction.

Food writer John Gilchrist told Global News the event has been resurrected and reinvigorated by Don House from Culinary Marketing Strategies.

“We’ve turned it into a city-wide event,” he explained. “It used to be just downtown. We’ve got 55 different restaurants across the city and they’re doing prix fixe menus for lunches and dinners, some gourmet dinners.”

Lunches offered through the YYC Food and Drink Experience are $20 or $30 per person for a three-course meal, dinners are $30 or $40 for a three-course meal, and five-course gourmet dinners are $65 per person, plus pairings.

For more information on participating restaurants you can visit the YYC Food and Drink Experience website.
