An Alberta father pleaded guilty in court Tuesday to 10 charges related to child pornography, firearms and sexual offences against his daughters.

The Evansburg man, who cannot be identified, was charged in 2017 with sexually assaulting his three teenage daughters and arranging for one to have sex with strange men. He was arrested in November 2016 after a family member raised concerns with the RCMP.

In an agreed statement of facts, the man admitted to repeatedly sexually assaulting the girls over a six-year period. On two occasions, he allowed men he met online to sexually assault his eldest daughter. He recorded one of the encounters and the video formed part of the evidence in the Crown’s case.

Several photos of the man’s daughters were recovered on electronic devices found in his home. During their investigation, police also found improperly stored automatic and semi-automatic weapons. In court in Edmonton on Tuesday, the accused also pleaded guilty to one count of careless storage of firearms.

A number of family members were in court on Tuesday as details of the case were revealed.

The court case was adjourned to Thursday.
