QEMSCAN is a hi-tech electron microscope which enables scientists to determine mineralogy and liberation characteristics of ore samples.

The service will provide a stronger and faster link between mineral exploration and processing. Companies will be able to find new deposits and evaluate the economic potential while still in the exploration stage.

“Mining and mineral processing are key sectors of our economy, with Saskatchewan being one of the largest mineral producers of potash and uranium in the world,” said Attorney General Gordon Wyant.

The new service will soon be available to potential clients from SRC’s Saskatoon Innovation Place location.
