One man arrested after police seize fentanyl, purple heroin in Lindsay

A Chatham, Ont., man faces drug-related charges as part of a drug investigation in Lindsay.

City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service says the arrest came as part of the drug enforcement unit’s investigation into the distribution of Fentanyl and “purple” heroin in the town.

Police say on Friday they attempted to speak with a suspect they believed was responsible for trafficking the drugs at a Bond Street housing complex.

According to police, when officers identified themselves, the man fled on foot, running through several backyards.

Officers eventually apprehended him. Police say he was in possession of heroin and cocaine.

Shayeon Luciano Clarke, 31, of Chatham, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing in Lindsay.
