Toronto police say a man has been arrested after stealing a vehicle and getting involved in a fiery crash in Scarborough.
Officers responded to the incident at around 11:45 p.m. Saturday night to the area of Morningside Avenue and Highway 401.
Investigators said two court officers were passing by when they rescued a man from a burning car.
According to police, the incident began when a woman was standing by her car as it was warming up near McLevin Avenue and Seweels Road, in the Malvern area.

A man pushed the woman and stole her car. A short time later, the suspect rear-ended another car near the 401 ramp and the car burst into flames.
The suspect was transported to hospital with serious injuries, and is now in police custody.

People in the second vehicle sustained minor injuries, and the court officers suffered minor smoke inhalation. All received treatment at the scene.
Investigators said alcohol is believed to have been involved.
The suspect is facing a list of charges including assault, theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving.
