A massive fire in Coquitlam has damaged a warehouse building. Crews believe it is not suspicious – Feb 7, 2019

Firefighters have the upper hand on a large fire in Coquitlam that has damaged a warehouse on Thursday.

Residents across the region could smell smoke after the building in the 100-block of Schoolhouse Street went up in flames around midnight.

Firefighters say the warehouse is badly damaged but the blaze is about 80 per cent contained.

The cause of the fire unknown but crews believe it is not suspicious.

Asst. Fire Chief Gary Mulligan said Thursday that crews are now working to putting out hot spots.
