Police have two men in custody after a truck was stolen at a St. James car dealership and the driver smashed into three others while trying to evade arrest.
The theft happened at about 11:30 a.m. when two men stole a black truck at a car dealership in the St. James industrial area. Police were able to track the truck thanks to an employee who could track it through GPS while it zoomed around Winnipeg.
“The stolen vehicle was driven erratically and at a high speed – cutting off numerous vehicles and operating in an unsafe manner,” police said.
Cops caught up to the truck, speeding down Gateway Road where it blew through a four-way stop sign and hit a vehicle driven by an adult man. The man was not hurt, and the truck hurtled away, police added.
