Snowmobile collides with vehicle on highway near Bancroft

A senior from Barrie was injured following a collision between a snowmobile and vehicle on Saturday afternoon.

Bancroft OPP say around 4 p.m., officers responded to the collision on Highway 127 near Iron Bridge Road, about 20 kilometres south of the Town of Bancroft.

Police found a 72-year-old man from Barrie who was the operator of the snowmobile. Police say he was ejected from the vehicle.

The man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

OPP say the man was charged under the Motorized Snow Vehicle Act. Details of the charge were not provided.

It was the second snowmobile-related crash in a span of four hours for Bancroft OPP.
