The award is particularly impressive considering Schultz only played 34 games in the AHL before being called up to the Edmonton Oilers at the start of the lockout shortened NHL season.

Despite not playing for the Barons since January 5, his 25 power play points still lead the team.

The 22-year-old has also been named to the AHL All-Rookie Team and a First Team AHL All Star.

Schultz leads Oilers defencemen in scoring this season with 21 points in 42 games.
