Kingston police investigating alleged stabbing that sent 1 person to hospital

Kingston police have confirmed that one male youth is in custody following a criminal investigation that shut down a stretch of Rideau St. Thursday afternoon.

According to police, another male youth was sent to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed.

Around 3:30 p.m. on Thrusday, Kingston police say an altercation between a group of youths who knew each other took place outside a Rideau Street address.

During the altercation, a 14-year-old male allegedly brandished a knife and stabbed another youth multiple times. Police say the 14-year-old fled the scene before they arrived.

Police then found the victim on a sidewalk after he had collapsed from his injuries, and he was transported to Kingston General Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
