HALIFAX – Some high school students in the Halifax area will be taking part in an experiment today that will be out of this world.
Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield is expected to perform an experiment prepared by students at Lockview High School in Fall River.

The students won a competition held by the Canadian Space Agency.
To qualify for the contest, the rules said the experiment could use items already available on the International Space Station.
Hadfield is nearing the end of a five-month mission aboard the station.
He is currently orbiting 300 kilometres above the Earth.
