Idabel Lake residents outraged

Two power outages in two days — electricity lost for about 16 hours. That’s what residents of a small Okanagan community have had to put up with. There are just over 50 homes in the Idabel Lake sub-division south-east of Kelowna. Many of the residents anticipated the power outages, after finding out the nearby forest would be harvested this winter. That’s because the loggers left buffer strips of trees right next to power lines, and now some of those trees are falling onto them. As Blaine Gaffney reports, frustrated residents want that buffer removed.
