TORONTO – Within moments after winning the federal Liberal leadership by a landslide Sunday, Justin Trudeau fired back at criticisms that were already appearing on social media from his opponents.
Before Trudeau had even taken the stage to deliver his acceptance speech, the Conservative party sent out an email blast zeroing in on what Tories believe are Trudeau’s greatest weaknesses.
“Justin Trudeau may have a famous last name, but in a time of global economic uncertainty, he doesn’t have the judgment or experience to be prime minister,” Conservative spokesman Fred DeLorey said.

Trudeau fired back: “This is what they do. They’re going to try to make people think that, you know, we can’t do better, the problems are too great. Canadians are looking are looking for a better, more positive alternative. I’m proud of the relentlessly positive campaign I ran, and I’m going to continue to do that.”
