Is provincial budget fallout damaging Redford’s government?

EDMONTON- Alberta’s provincial budget was tabled over a month ago, but the fallout from it continues.

Students, pharmacists, and doctors are just some of the groups that have been voicing their concerns over the decisions Alison Redford’s PC government has made.

A poll by Angus Reid, released earlier this week, showed the premier’s approval rating hit an all time low of 29 per cent, down from 47 per cent in December 2012.

Members of the opposition have made the most of the opportunity, taking the time to voice their opinions, as well.

“Stable funding for seniors- broken. Stable funding for Kindergarten to (Grade) 12- broken. Stable funding for post-secondary- broken. Every promise broken,” said Liberal Leader Raj Sherman.

There’s even a YouTube parody outlining Albertan Amanda Achtman’s opinion on the current government.

So just how much damage has this negative reaction done to the government?

“We’ve said all along that we were going to have to make some tough choices,” Redford said when asked if the negative reaction had damaged her government. “Change is difficult, but I think we’re going to work through it.”

Redford will face a leadership review in November.
