Fire fighters could be seen chopping holes in the roof and side of the motel, to help ventilate the building. Crews were able to bring the fire under control just before 6 am.

The fire, which officials say started in the kitchen of a one-bedroom suite, damaged several rooms and caused roughly $200,000 in damages.

Fire investigators were on scene Monday morning, looking into the cause of the blaze.
