A Nova Scotia man is facing a slew of charges after allegedly pointing a gun and shooting at a man in the small community of Middleboro, southeast of Pugwash.
According to RCMP spokeswoman Jennifer Clarke, a deer hunter in the area heard a popping sound at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and when he looked in the direction of the noise he saw a man pointing a handgun and firing shots at him before driving away.

Clarke says the hunter did not realize he was on private property at the time the shots were fired at him.
The hunter, who was not injured, called 911 and described the truck to police, who later made contact with the suspect by phone.
Police say the accused was arrested without incident.

While searching his home, police found multiple firearms and ammunition, some of which Clarke says were not properly stored.
The 52-year-old man from Wallace will appear in Amherst Provincial Court on Dec. 17 to face charges that include discharging a firearm while being reckless and four counts of careless use of a firearm.
