Winnipeg man charged with impaired driving after crash at Pembina and Bishop Grandin

A Winnipeg man has been charged with impaired driving after a Sunday morning crash on Pembina Highway at Bishop Grandin Boulevard sent three people to hospital.

Police say the crash happened around 5 a.m. and involved two vehicles, with one of them flipped onto its side.

Police say a pick-up truck heading north on Pembina hit a vehicle turning south on Bishop Grandin.

The driver of the truck was taken to hospital in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital in unstable condition but has also been upgraded.

The truck driver, a 31-year old Winnipeg man, was arrested and will be charged with driving while impaired causing bodily harm and refusing to provide a sample.

Northbound Pembina at Bishop Grandin was closed for about four hours.
