Owner: NS Crystal showroom temporarily closing

HALIFAX, N.S. — Nova Scotian Crystal has been overwhelmed with support since they went into receivership on February 15, says the business’ new owner.

Anne Campbell took over the business on Tuesday, after buying it from co-founder Rod McCullough.

In a press release put out early Wednesday, Campbell said the company is trying to fill a backlog of customer “wish lists”.

“It was virtually impossible to cope with all this … when stock levels were low from Christmas period,” said Campbell in the release.

The showroom will be closed until at least July so they can build up a bigger inventory. The company is hiring more apprentices and re-opening a Dartmouth workshop to increase production to five days a week.

Nova Scotian Crystal is Canada’s only mouth-blown, hand-cut crystal company. The company employs 40 people at its Halifax waterfront location.
