Pedestrian killed in collision in Surrey, after being struck twice

Commuters across the province are once again reminded to slow down after a series of deadly crashes overnight in Metro Vancouver. Sarah MacDonald reports – Sep 21, 2018

Surrey RCMP are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a fatal crash at Highway 10 and 152nd Street.

Police say a man in his 50s, who is believed to be from Surrey, was struck at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday while trying to cross the highway.

He was not in a crosswalk.

A light-coloured SUV took off and then the victim was struck by a second SUV.

The driver of the second vehicle from Burnaby did stay at the scene.

People there immediately performed CPR but were unable to save the victim.

The weather was dark and rainy at the time of the collision.

Highway 10 was closed to traffic while police investigated.
