Burnaby RCMP are searching for a man involved in a violent road rage incident.
Mounties say the incident began at about 8:30 Sunday night on the Lougheed Highway, just east of the Vancouver-Burnaby boundary.
They say the driver of a silver Toyota Echo was spotted tailgating a beige sedan, continuously honking his horn as the elderly sedan driver turned off Lougheed (onto Gilmore Avenue) and eventually pulled to the side of the road.

Witnesses report that’s when the man in the Echo jumped out of his car, ran up to the sedan and punched the victim several times through the open window, before fleeing.
Corp. Rick Skolrood says the elderly man was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and although the assault is relatively minor, police are taking it very seriously.
Skolrood says road rage is completely unacceptable and he’s urging the public to help track the Echo driver, described as Caucasian, in his late 40s to early 50s, with grey hair and a slim build.
