A power outage left thousands of homes without power for more than 12 hours Sunday.
The outage happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Hydro crews had restored the power to the area just before 1:00 p.m., Sunday.

A spokesperson for Manitoba Hydro says the area covers between Inkster Boulevard to Leila Avenue and between McPhillips Street and the Red River. Hydro says a few homes across the river in East Kildonan are also without power.
Cadets were out at McPhillips Street and Jefferson Avenue directing traffic Sunday morning.
The outage was caused by two pole fires.
