A Prince Albert, Sask. woman is facing a number of charges, including impaired driving, in what Saskatoon police call an “alcohol fuelled evening.”
Police were called to a bar in the 1800-block of Broadway Avenue just before 4:30 p.m. CT Wednesday after a woman left without paying a hefty bar tab.
She left behind her purse and identification, providing police with some clues as to her identity.
An hour later, officers were called to a bar in the 3300-block of Diefenbaker Drive where a woman left without paying her tab, and left her shoes behind, and drove off in a black Mercedes.
Ten minutes later, police received word of a collision involving a Mercedes and a truck at 11th Street West and Circle Drive. Police were told the Mercedes left and was heading east on 11th Street.
While officers were responding, a patrol unit came across a black Mercedes that had crashed into a fence at 11th Street and Avenue W South.
Police said a woman was standing beside the Mercedes – and was not wearing shoes.
The 35-year-old woman was arrested and is facing charges of impaired driving and driving while prohibited, along with dine and dash related offenses.
She is scheduled to appear next month in Saskatoon provincial court.
