Police in Châteauguay are investigating after a spectacular crash overnight in the town of Léry, in south shore Montreal.
Châteauguay police spokesperson Martin Labrie said residents in the area of Lac-Saint-Louis Road called emergency services after hearing a loud bang at around 12:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found an abandoned car that had crashed through one house, before smashing into a neighbouring home.
“It’s a residential street,” Labrie said, before adding the speed limit is 30 km/h.
Labrie said the car had been stolen earlier in the evening, not far from the scene of the crash.

Officers searched the area for a suspect and located a man in his 20s who was injured. He was taken to hospital for treatment, but Labrie said the extent of his injuries is not known.
