Hamilton police say they are not investigating an incident in which a baby was alone on the roof of a home as criminal.
Around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, police were called to the area of King Street East and Tisdale about a young child standing outside on the second-floor roof of a home in only a diaper.
Police confirmed a citizen in the area ran inside the home and brought the child to safety through the window.
They say the child was inside his bedroom napping when he squeezed out the window.
Families are reminded to secure windows and doorways to ensure the safety of their children.
Hamilton police say they are thankful for the quick-thinking actions of those who witnessed the incident, alerted the parents and quickly brought the child to safety.
