A young man has been charged after an elderly woman was pushed to the ground and robbed in St. John’s, N.L.

Police say the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

They say the woman was pushed to the ground and her purse was stolen.

She received minor injuries.

The suspect fled the area on foot, but the 21-year-old man was later arrested with the help of a police dog unit.
