Driver succumbs to injuries following Highway 401 crash near Dutton: OPP

Elgin County OPP said a man from Woodstock, Ont. has succumbed to his injuries following a single vehicle rollover on Highway 401 near Dutton.

The crash took place late Friday morning.

According to Ontario Provincial Police, a vehicle travelling westbound on the 401 between Iona and Currie roads lost control, entered a ditch and rolled.

Eric Joseph Kitching, 24, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries following the rollover. Kitching has since died in hospital.

The passenger, a 23-year-old woman who was friends with Kitching, was treated and released from hospital.

Police added that evidence at the scene suggested Kitching was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
