Human remains discovered in Mount Forest: OPP

Wellington County OPP say human remains have been found in Mount Forest.

The discovery was made by officers on Tuesday at around 11 a.m. in a wooded area near John and North Water streets.

A police spokesperson said nothing at the scene points to anything suspicious, but an investigation is underway.

The Office of the Coroner is still working to identify the remains and the cause of death.

The discovery comes after 50-year-old Catherine Ann Buckle was reported missing on June 30. She was last seen in Mount Forest, but police had previously said she may be in the Owen Sound area.

Police said they have not made a connection between the two investigations at this point.
