Part of Kelowna’s Richter St. closed for paving

File / Global News

Starting Friday, July 20, Richter Street in Kelowna will be closed between Stockwell and Cawston avenues for milling and paving.

Work is anticipated for completion Friday, July 27 at 5:30 p.m. weather-permitting.

Construction hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., although work may occur outside of regular construction hours (evenings and weekends), to minimize impacts on residents and limit the time of active construction in the area.

Motorists are instructed to follow the indicated detour route and use caution while traveling around construction zones. Please obey signage and traffic safety personnel as every effort will be made to minimize disruptions for motorists, residents and businesses.

The work is part of the pavement management program. Approximately $3.5 million will be invested in asphalt improvements this year with the work expected to be complete by October. This annual program provides cost efficiencies and helps protect the infrastructure of our roads over time to prevent mass replacement at one time.
