RCMP in Nova Scotia say an initial call about an erratic driver has turned into an investigation into an alleged assault.
Officers in the Baddeck detachment received a call about a vehicle driving erratically in Whycocomagh Portage just before 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
They found the driver, a 54-year-old man from Eskasoni First Nation, and determined he had suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries from an alleged assault.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance.
RCMP arrested a suspect in Eskasoni that night and say the two know each other. The suspect faces charges of aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm, and remains in custody until his next court appearance.
Police believe the alleged assault happened on Castle Bay Road in Eskasoni First Nation sometime on Sunday afternoon. They’re asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to call the Eskasoni RCMP detachment at 902-379-2822 or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
